I have heard about Subluxation. What is that exactly?

Vertebral Subluxation Complex is the result of a loss of normal function or form in the spine and involves multiple vertebrae. It can happen to anyone who must go through the daily stresses of life, whether this is the result of sitting in at a computer screen all day, bearing and caring for children, standing for extended periods of time or simply undergoing extreme emotional stress. The result is malfunction and misalignment and, if untreated, eventual pain. Subluxation can be detected and treated in early stages in some cases and later pain can be avoided.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe? Do they hurt?

A controlled and precise treatment, chiropractic adjustment should only be performed by experienced and highly skilled chiropractors who have had many years of training. Though all health procedures involve some level of risk, chiropractic adjustments, because they don’t involve drugs or invasive surgery and are performed with care, are among the safest of health treatments.

How long does a chiropractic doctor go to school?

All Doctors of Chiropractic must train and study for at least 7 years in a post-graduate institution. This includes study of all basic sciences and chiropractic philosophy and practice, and clinical internship training.

Is chiropractic care okay for children? Pregnant women?

Moms and kids do come to New York Physical Therapy Center and for many reasons. Children are treated for ear infections and more. We provide gentle adjustments for little ones too. Pregnant women can be treated also, and often come in with low back pain, knee pain, headaches and more. Treatment on pregnant women is done with great care. Please contact us to find out more.
